Pull The Damn Thing Down

Album: Rebel (1976)

Songfacts®:

  • John Miles was featured in the April 3, 1976 issue of Melody Maker; the article Miles: a star is born, contains a lengthy review credited to C.W., who says of "Pull The Damn Thing Down" it is "a blazing commentary on the pollution of the environment by the architectural planners."
  • Running 7:18, the eighth track on the Rebel album segues into the reprise of "Music" and was written by the then-nascent partnership of Miles and his bass player/lyricist Bob Marshall. Like a fair amount of his early material, the track is orchestrated, and like so most of his material, apart from the odd perceptive reviewer like C.W., did not receive the acclaim it deserves. >>>
