  • John Newman's first single from his second album, this song was written and co-produced by the singer with Greg Kurstin. The latter is an American songwriter and producer who is best known for his work with Kelly Clarkson ("What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)"), Sia ("Chandelier"), Pink ("Blow Me (One Last Kiss)") and Ellie Goulding ("Burn").
  • Newman told Capital FM's Dave Berry and Lisa Snowdon that the record takes inspiration from the sun. "We spoke about how the sun is very inspiring, you want to make music that feels good in tha," he said. "You can hear the difference in the groove almost, and that was the important thing for me this time."

    "Instead of it being a big, stumpy, British kind of rough-feeling record, that it was a bit slicker, a bit tighter, a bit more American-influenced and we got that," Newman added. "Better grooves, better basslines and better hooks and I think we got that."
  • The Alex Heron directed music video finds Newman in an affair with a woman who leaves her boyfriend to drive off into the sunset with him. The singer explained that he found it difficult to find someone happy to make his vision a reality. "I wrote this full script last time I was here in LA," Newman said. "I wrote it for two videos so one was a prequel to the other, and then we decided we were releasing 'Come And Get It' and we went with one of the video ideas and we had directors coming back and they were all coming up with new ideas and saying this idea wouldn't work."

    "I envisioned this vision so much and I stuck to my guns and told my label I really believed in this and we fought on and found Alex Heron who brought an absolute joy into my life and told us this was possible," he added.
  • The video is based upon an event that happened in Newman's life. "It was a real situation and I like to make everything as real as possible," he said. "It's a weird one for me to talk about because I've been ballsy enough to put it in a video but I don't think I'm ballsy enough to talk about it in person, which is hard. It's a hard story to talk about when it's not in a song, I guess."
  • The song soundtracked a Ford commercial in which the automobile manufacturer encourages viewers to upgrade their car to a Ford Focus, Ford Fusion or Ford Escape.
