Songfacts®:

  • Although this is only one of several songs inspired by the tragic death of 2-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony, it appears to be the first, and in view of its being performed by its composer John Whynock at her memorial service in February 2009, it might rightly be called the official Caylee Anthony memorial song. The thousand-plus crowd did not include Caylee's mother, Casey, who was held in the Orange County Jail charged with her murder. Her acquittal in July 2011 provoked outrage. Other songs about this tragic case include "Caylee's Song Black Cloud Over Orlando" and one with the unlikely sounding but fitting title "Pants On Fire." >>
