Songfacts®:

  • This electronica-inspired song was part of JoJo's 'tringle' release. After being locked in a long-standing legal battle with her former label Blackground Records, the singer marked the start of her album campaign after signing a deal with Atlantic Records in 2014 by simultaneously releasing three brand new singles. JoJo explained that the song is "about when something is moving you, to feel a strong emotion, that's when you know it's worth sticking around and fighting for."
  • The Benny Blanco and Jason Evigan produced song was inspired by house music. "It's that driving song. I love to workout to [it] - I run to it every morning actually," JoJo told MTV News. "It's kind of like when something moves you to feel a certain way, a really strong emotion, that's when you know it's probably something you should fight for. It felt like I heard it on the radio. I felt like people my age would listen to it."
  • JoJo told Billboard magazine about her love for dance music. "What I listen to in my personal time to get me amped up has been house music, dance music," she said. "Going back to the '90s, Black Box and CeCe Peniston, to more contemporary dance leaders like Duke Dumont and Disclosure and MNEK. That stuff was really speaking to me, so I wanted to tap into that."
