Songfacts®:

  • Jon Pardi's debut single, "Missin' You Crazy" was written by the singer with Bart Butler and Monty Holmes.

"'Missin' You Crazy' is a highway song about missing your wife, or loved one, or dog, whatever you (may) be missing while you're out working on the road," he explained to The Tennessean.
  • The song debuted at #58 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for the week of April 14, 2012 and eventually peaked at #29. It was a strong opening salvo for Pardi, who played venues near his hometown of Dixon, California before moving to Nashville when he was 22. He landed a deal with Capitol Nashville, which put out "Missin' You Crazy" as a single in 2012. The next year, he followed with the single "Up All Night," which had a stronger showing, climbing to #10 on the Country chart. His debut album, Write You A Song, was a modest success when it was released in 2014, but his second album, California Sunrise, became his breakthrough when it came out in 2016. Songs from that one include "Dirt on My Boots" and "Heartache on the Dance Floor."
