Songfacts®:

  • Jon Patrick Walker doesn't know who the heck Foday Bojang is, but he can thank him for a catchy song title. Walker was checking his email one day and saw a Facebook friend request from the mysterious person who had a handful of friends and apparently lived on a farm in a foreign land. After singing the name to the tune of "Louie, Louie" for awhile, the actor got serious about turning "Foday Bojang" into a real song. It became the song that would inadvertently inspire him to record his debut album, Jon Patrick Walker & The Guilty Party. He said in our interview: "So we went down in the fall of 2011 and recorded the one song. Really just sort of for fun to see how it just for the experience. I didn't really have any intention of making a record. But it was a fantastic experience. It was so much fun. Kind of magical. So I got back home and just realized, you know what, I want to make music."
