  • "Cool" finds The Jonas Brothers on top of the world.

Lately, I've been feeling so cool
Top to the bottom just cool
Every little thing that I do
    Dammit, I feel so cool

Nick Jonas sings of his love for red dresses, which he previously referred to in JoBros' 2008 hit "Burning Up" ("High heels red dress. All by yourself, gotta catch my breath.") In this instance, he's likely thinking of his wife Priyanka Chopra's Indian embroidered ankle-length skirt, which she wore during their three-day wedding ceremony in December 2018.

I'm feelin' high like a late night summer of last year (Yeah)
Standin' there with the red dress on ya
A Killer Queen like a young Jane Fonda
Is it me or am I just havin' a good year?

Joe references Game of Thrones, on which his fiancee, Sophie Turner, stars as Sansa Stark.

Oh, I feel like Post Malone when I get home
Sittin' there, winning like it's Game of Thrones

The Post Malone shout-out is their response to the rapper's reference to them on his 2018 single "Better Now."

And I'm rollin', rollin', rollin', rollin'
With my brothers like it's Jonas, Jonas
  • The Jonas Brothers wrote the song with Casey Smith, Zach Skelton and Ryan Tedder. The three songwriter/producers also collaborated on Backstreet Boys' 2019 track "Chances."
  • The three brothers joined forces with "Sucker" director Anthony Mandler to shoot the cinematic music video. The clip channels the spirit of 1984 Miami as we see the brothers hit the beach surrounded by their colorful dance squad clad in '80s aerobics gear. There are also massive boomboxes, huge shoulder pads and plenty of cologne.
  • In their album description on Apple Music, Nick Jonas said this song was originally supposed to be a ballad and came towards the end of the writing process.
