  • Producer Sam Kassirer incorporated the click-clacking sound in a kitchen for the background of this song. Ritter explained to MSN CA: "Great North Studios is just a big old farm house. We were up there. Sam and I, and Josh Kaufman, who was recording the guitar part on that, and some of our friends. We were all up there and sitting around. There was a beautiful feeling in there. It was really warm, and Sam just threw up a mic for Josh and me. He played, I sang. There was something going on in the background, but it wasn't something that I really wanted to do really well. It was nothing that I wanted to do in the studio way. I've done that before with like (The Animal Years track) 'Idaho'. There are other songs that I've recorded on a lot of records where it just feels like, 'This is the one.' I don't care. It's not going to sound as awesome as this. 'The Appleblossom Rag' feels like a very ragged song."
