Songfacts®:

  • This is a novelty song, one which amusingly plays off the dumb blonde stereotype that has made many careers. It appears on the soundtrack to Earth Girls Are Easy, which starred Julie Brown along with Gena Davis, Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans. >>

  • Julie Brown is an actress and comedian who made many appearances on MTV in the late '80s (there was another Julie Brown that often appeared on the network as well, who went by "Downtown" Julie Brown). She often made fun of celebrities who she felt had more fame than talent, and in this song she mocks the blonde actresses in Hollywood who get by on their looks. Brown is a redhead.

  • Karen from Manchester, NhMy 7-year-old daughter, who is a blonde, if she forgets something, will say, "Oh, I just had a blonde moment." Needless to say, she loves this song!
  • Serra from Santa Fe, NmOhhh...and don't forget my favorite Julie Brown song: "I like them big and stupid. I like them big and reeeal dumb!"
  • Jeff from Chicago, GaSHe performed this song live on Oprah Winfrey once and the blonde women in the audience were not amused. Its a hillarious song and Julie Brown is very funny.
  • Lester from New York City, NyJulie Brown had two other great novelty songs. Trapped in the Body of a White Girl, and (Everybody Run), thr Homecoming Queen Has Got a Gun.

Her 'Just Say Julie' was a truly a grat comedy show on MTV, with Julie interjecting herself into and commenting on various MTV videos, surrounded by comedy segments with a theme. I thought it was brilliant. This Julie Brown was the white girl with the big boobs, as opposed to MTV's Downtown Julie Brown
