Songfacts®:

  • This tearful ballad finds Justin playing a scorned ex. This song was originally released on the teenage pop singer's debut album My World 2.0 with production by his fellow Canadians, The Messengers.
  • A revamped version was recorded for his Justin Bieber: Never Say Never soundtrack album with a guest appearance by American country band Rascal Flatts. Regarding crossing genre from Pop to Country, Justin told ABC, "Music is music, and it's a universal language. It doesn't really matter what style, as long as it appeals to others and people like it, that's all that really matters."
  • In an interview with Nashville radio station WSIX, Rascal Flatts lead singer Gary LeVox said, "[Justin] asked us to do a duet with him on his next record. It's actually a really good song! The kid is really talented. He plays five or six different instruments really well."
  • The song was co-written by singer-songwriter Luke Boyd, whose other credits include songs for Britney Spears ("Kill The Lights") and Chris Brown ("Crawl") among others. In 2011 Beyoncé selected Boyd for a featured role in her "Run The World" video. He also records music under the name of Luke James.
