Songfacts®:

  • Here, Kane Brown sings about a perfect romance with a girl, whom he's pretty convinced is sent from above.

Everybody's talking about heaven like they just can't wait to go
Saying how it's gonna be so good, so beautiful
Lying next to you, in this bed with you, I ain't convinced
'Cause I don't know how, I don't know how heaven, heaven
    Could be better than this

Brown included the sentimental love song as the final track on the new deluxe edition of his self-titled debut album.
  • Though Kane Brown didn't write the song, he instantly related to the lyrics, first time he heard it. The singer recalled to Taste of Country that he was on a writers retreat, and he was working on another of his debut album tracks "What's Mine Is Yours," when he overheard Shy Carter, Matthew McGinn and Lindsay Rimes working on "Heaven."

"So my buddy Shy Carter started singing it to me, and his voice is amazing, but also the song just really hit me and made me feel close to it," Brown said. "It really made me think about my fiancée. So I was like, 'There's got to be other people that can relate to this song.'"
  • As well as thinking about his fiancée Katelyn Jae, the song also gives Brown a feeling of being on stage with his fans. He explained to Billboard:

"I think lyrically the first lines are what drew me in, 'This is perfect' and 'I couldn't dream this up even if I tried.' I really appreciate where I am right now in my career, and am so grateful to the fans for getting me to where I am today. That's who I make music for - they have been with me since day one, and I love giving them new music as often as possible."
