Songfacts®:

  • Kasabian guitarist and main songwriter Serge Pizzorno told Q magazine: "It starts off with a Stonesy, disco groove, then locks in with this chorus which sounds like Nirvana, almost."
  • The lyric "All this blood and glitter," is a reference to an exhibition held by rock 'n' roll photographer Mick Rock. Often referred to as "The Man Who Shot the Seventies", amongst Rock's best known work are various images of David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust which he shot in his capacity as the official Bowie photographer. He also created many memorable album covers including the ones for Lou Reed's Transformer, Queen's Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack and Joan Jett's I Love Rock 'n' Roll.
  • The Tom Carty directed video features the band in a high-speed car chase and was filmed at Chobham Test Track, Surrey. The clip pays homage to several classic movies, including The Hitcher and Wayne's World.
