  • Urban told Radio.com why this Brandy Clark, Shane McAnally and Trevor Rosen penned ballad struck a chord with him. "I just love the lyric, and I know that person. I know those people in the song. Both the guy and the girl," he said. "'Come Back To Me' is almost like the guy from 'Stupid Boy' who has finally figured out how to do things right. That's why I love that song so much. I think anybody who hears it will know why that song affected me the way it did."
  • Shane McAnally has co-written numerous hit tunes for the he likes of Kelly Clarkson, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and Sam Hunt. Asked by UK's Country Music magazine in 2017 what the favorite line is that he has ever penned, the songwriter replied: "In Come Back to Me, there's a line in the chorus: 'I want to hold you, but I don't want to hold you back.' That's what the whole song is about. I want to be with you, but not at the expense of you getting to see the world. I love that."
  • Brandy Clark recorded "Come Back To Me" for her 2023 self-titled album. "I always toyed with doing that song and it just fit this time," she told American Songwriter. "I was listening to a whole bunch of songs right before I had to drive from Salt Lake City to LA because I was working on this musical that we had opened there. During that drive, I listened to parts of my catalog and the work tape of that song came up. I thought, 'Man that might be worth, at least, me doing a work tape of it.' So I did and everybody really resonated with it."
