Asked by UK's Country Music magazine in 2017 what the favorite line is that he has ever penned, the songwriter replied: "In Come Back to Me, there's a line in the chorus: 'I want to hold you, but I don't want to hold you back.' That's what the whole song is about. I want to be with you, but not at the expense of you getting to see the world. I love that."
  • Brandy Clark recorded "Come Back To Me" for her 2023 self-titled album. "I always toyed with doing that song and it just fit this time," she told American Songwriter. "I was listening to a whole bunch of songs right before I had to drive from Salt Lake City to LA because I was working on this musical that we had opened there. During that drive, I listened to parts of my catalog and the work tape of that song came up. I thought, 'Man that might be worth, at least, me doing a work tape of it.' So I did and everybody really resonated with it."
