Songfacts®:

  • This starts off like a sweet ballad, before a sea of synths propel it into a full-on electronic banger. Jesse Shatkin co-wrote and produced the tune. He first worked as an engineer under Greg Kurstin on Clarkson's previous two studio albums before graduating to producer on "Take You High" and "Invincible."

Shatkin is also a frequent collaborator of another of the Piece by Piece songwriters, Sia. The pair wrote the Australian's hit song "Chandelier" together.
  • The other co-writer was MoZella, who also co-penned Miley Cyrus' #1 single "Wrecking Ball" and Mary Lambert's "Secrets."
