  • We learned about Kelly Osbourne (Ozzy's daughter) in 2002 when the reality show The Osbournes started airing on MTV and she released her first single, a cover of Madonna's "Papa Don't Preach." The next year, she and Ozzy had a #1 hit in the UK with their version of an old Black Sabbath song called "Changes."

"One Word" was the first single from her second album, Sleeping In The Nothing. The song and the album underperformed, and Kelly put music on the sidelines to focus on TV gigs.
  • "One Word" was written and produced by Linda Perry, the hitmaker behind more vocally proficient singers like Christina Aguilera ("Beautiful") and Pink ("Get The Party Started"). The song has an electronic groove and a nebulous lyric that's open to interpretation.
  • "One Word" was the first song to top all three UK dance surveys in the same week. On June 9, 2005, it was #1 on the Hot Dance Singles Sales, Hot Dance Radio Airplay charts and Hot Dance Club Play chart.
  • There are some musical similarities between "One Word" and a 1981 synth-pop song by Visage called "Fade To Grey." The writers of that song were later added to the credits of "One Word."
