Songfacts®:

  • In an interview with The Lantern, Rowland explained the inspiration behind this song: "That song is actually five years old. I was going through the worst breakup and a producer of mine was telling me about his wife, and the love he had for her brought tears to my eyes."
  • This is a song that Rowland has wanted to record ever since producer/co-writer Billy Mann played it for her four years prior to the laying down of the album. Mann originally wrote this for a movie soundtrack and when the project fell through the former Destiny's Child singer held on to the song. She explained on her record label's website: "The timing worked out perfectly because now it's on my album. I love the song. It feels timeless and it speaks about how to be open with love. Even when things go bad and you're hurt, you still have to be open and whenever it comes you'll know that this is love."
