Songfacts®:

  • Kenny Chesney was raised in the small Tennessee town of Luttrell, which according to the 2000 census has a population of 915. He wears his small town heritage as a badge of honor on this sentimental Keith Gattis-penned track. "When Keith Gattis gave me this song, I was in a plane flying home somewhere, and I listened to it 50 times, over and over again," Chesney told The Boot. "I was immediately transformed into that kid again that literally used to sit in the backyard and stare up at the stars and wonder if there was anything else out there beyond what he knew. That's where I first learned how to dream."
