Songfacts®:

  • A vibe is a feeling communicated from one person to another. This fierce track finds K.Flay calling out a guy who habitually manages to find a negative side, and in so doing, gives out bad vibes.

You're in a circle of people with fun that's illegal
You act like a cop, you're the sequel that sucks

"With everything going on in the world right now, I wanted to make some positive music," K. Flay said of the song." "The goal isn't to be happy every minute; it's just to move away from negative energy."
  • Set in the Solutions Re-education Center for Young Women, the moody Lorraine Nicholson-directed video finds K.Flay leading an all-women group of inmates in dances on a basketball court and in a cafeteria. "We wanted to capture what it means to be trapped inside your own negative psyche - and how it might feel to break free," the singer stated in a press release. "Lorraine had the amazing idea to make basketball and choreographed basketball imagery a central part of the video, and for me that visual just made total sense."

The video co-stars Kathryn Gallagher ("Annika" from the Netflix series You). K.Flay personally reached out to the actress through Instagram to ask her to appear in the clip.
  • This was the first song that K.Flay and her producer, Tommy English, wrote for Solutions. It turned out to be the track that came together the quickest. She explained to HMV.com:

"Tommy and I got together and were like, let's make something. Anything. Doesn't matter. And that sense of freedom can be so great for quick songwriting."
