Songfacts®:

  • Kim Gordon recorded this hip-hop informed track for No Home Record, her first solo album in her long music career. She decided to do the record after collaborating with producer Justin Raisen on a 2016 song titled "Murdered Out ."
  • "Paprika Pony" came from a trap beat Justin Raisin's brother Jeremiah brought in. "When I heard that beat I said, 'Oh that's cool, it has an atmosphere I feel would really suit me,'" Gordon remembered to Uncut magazine. "Then I did some low-end feedback. It's subtle. That song is like a modern-day Adam and Eve, like they're in the garden but they're on their phones."

"Paprika Pony was a poem," Justin Raisen added, "but it felt like it worked and it flows, so it's as it is."
