Songfacts®:

  • This song about a first love was released as the lead single from Kip Moore's sophomore album. The Country singer-songwriter penned the tune with his longtime friends Dan Couch ("Hey Pretty Girl," "Somethin' 'Bout a Truck") and Weston Davis. "Being able to write songs with a couple of your best friends and then actually have some success with it is something every up and coming songwriter dreams about, and I have a hard time believing that we've achieved that sometimes. Beyond being friends, Dan and Weston are two of the most talented guys I know, and we always push each other to be better," said Moore. "This song is about being in love so much that the rest of the world doesn't matter, it is just about those two people. Especially being young, everyone else might not take it as seriously as you are feeling it. I think most people have been there and we wanted to tell that story."
  • Moore explained to Billboard magazine that this is a 'us against the world' song. He recalled: "We (Davis and him) were talking with Dan (Couch) about his marriage and the struggles they went through to get where they are. Then, we got to talking about being younger kids. I remember being sixteen in Panama City, and sneaking away with this girl I really liked. You get in trouble, and the parents hate you for it. We just started talking about the crazy things you will do for that person. It's one of those songs where it's you against everybody else, and you make it through."
