Songfacts®:

  • The Irish rock quartet Kodaline open their debut album, In a Perfect World, with this song where vocalist Steve Garrigan offers consolation and positivity in the wake of disappointment. The singer told Digital Spy that the record is a "collection of life experiences" that has a very simple message. "I'm a true believer in positive thinking. 'Even when you're going through s--t, staying positive is key,'" said Garrigan. "That's essentially what the whole album is about. When things get bad, you've got to keep looking forward to something better."
