Songfacts®:

  • Korn frontman Jonathan Davis has been channeling his frustrations into aural catharsis since Korn's 1994 self-titled debut and this song finds him expressing his irritation at people taking advantage of his good nature. He explained to Artist Direct: "Every day I throw up a wall, and there's always someone out there in the world trying to tear it down. Someone is always trying to get through or get to me, I feel. I'm taken advantage of a lot because I'm so nice. I put this wall up and somehow they always get through and f--k me over."
  • The Path of Totality is comprised entirely of songs made with dubstep producers and this song was composed with Excision, the alias of Canadian Jeff Abel. Excision was one of the first dubstep producers and DJs in North America, and since the release of his debut single "No Escape" in 2007 has played a significant role in the genre's growth in popularity.
