Songfacts®:

  • This song finds KSI singing rather than his usual rapping. The artist croons about how when he's with his lover he forgets about the pressures of the world and feels like he's on holiday.
  • KSI dropped the song on June 18, 2021 when because of the COVID travel restrictions, most people had been unable to take a vacation for over a year. He said this meant the song could be interpreted literally as well, "Since a holiday would be lovely to have."
  • KSI released "Holiday" as the fourth single from All Over The Place. "You" was initially set to be the fourth single, but when snippets of the tune and other album tracks were leaked on social media he changed it to something they'd not already heard. KSI chose "Holiday" because it wasn't originally planned for the album.
  • KSI wrote the song with the track's producers. They are:

Producer and songwriter Jake Gosling, who has also worked with One Direction ("Little Things"), Ed Sheeran ("Thinking Out Loud"), and Shawn Mendes ("Mercy").

Nick Gale, a.k.a. Digital Farm Animals, whose other credits include hit singles by Dua Lipa ("Be The One"), Cheat Codes ("Only You"), and Galantis ("No Money"). Gale also collaborated with KSI on his previous three singles, "Really Love," "Don't Play," and "Patience."
  • Little Mix released a single with a similar theme in 2020. Their song, also titled "Holiday," finds the girls employing various metaphors comparing their love interest's intimacy to a vacation.
