Songfacts®:

  • "Lose" is a love song where Lil Wayne joins KSI to rap about their relationships. Their romances differ in many ways but both agree they really don't want to lose their sweethearts.
  • Lil Wayne raps the first verse where he describes a toxic relationship - his girlfriend is cheating on him. However, despite the way she gives him the run-around, he remains in love with her.

KSI's lover, on the other hand, is some catch. He describes her as "hotter than the devil" but "righteous," so unsurprisingly he's completely enamored with his lady. KSI ends his verse by saying he wants to spend the rest of his life with her so "my story is endin' with you."
  • Lil Wayne is one of KSI's heroes. He described the collaboration as a dream come true, saying, "If you told me 10 years ago that this was gonna happen, I would have laughed in your face and blocked you from my contacts. But here we are, it's a reality."
  • RBC Records and BMG released the song as the lead single from the deluxe edition of All Over the Place on August 6, 2021.
  • KSI and Lil Wayne wrote the song with Ivory Scott ("Cap," "Number 2") and the track's producer, Digital Farm Animals ("Really Love," "Don't Play," "Patience" and "Holiday").
  • Troy Roscoe directed the video, which finds KSI and Lil Wayne pouring out their feelings in a psychiatrist's office. Roscoe has frequently collaborated with KSI on his visuals; he also worked with Wayne on his Polo G collaboration "Gang Gang." Instagram model Ravyn Rochelle features in the clip.
