Only You

Album: Not Released (1992)

Songfacts®:

  • This is the first song that Tunstall ever wrote. She recalled to The Mail On Sunday's You magazine: "I had never had a boyfriend, and all I knew about romance was from watching Dallas - so I wrote about my favourite couple on the show: Miles and Claudia. It's about a girl being left by a guy. I didn't know what I was talking about but it was really catchy."
  • KT Tunstall expanded on the song to American Songwriter: "It was about the feeling of being cheated on. I had never been cheated on and had only had one, maybe two boyfriends by that time, and I seem to remember that the song was based on the storyline between Miles and Claudia on Dynasty."
