Songfacts®:

  • Kylie Minogue was in the midst of splitting from former fiancé, actor Joshua Sasse, when she wrote and recorded her Golden album. The fallout from her relationship breakup is clearly evident on this track, where the Aussie singer croons about how she thought she was about to settle down and it will take a lifetime to get over her hurt.
  • An edition version of the song was released as Golden's fourth single on August 4, 2018. The new mix includes beefed up production on the verses and additional fiddle on the hook.
  • Kylie Minogue wrote the song with Danny Shah and British-born songwriter Steve McEwan, whose credits include huge Country hits for Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney and Carrie Underwood. It was produced by African-German Sky Adams, who has also worked with Gorgon City, Barns Courtney Sub Focus and Sigma.
