Songfacts®:

  • This is an uplifting disco pop song about the excitement of a new romance. As the "magic" of love envelops Kylie Minogue, she feels like she's "floating through the ceiling."
  • Minogue co-wrote the song with Michelle Buzz and Teemu Brunila alongside its producers, PhD (also known as Peter Wallevik & Daniel Davidsen). PhD previously co-wrote Kylie's songs "Get Outta My Way" and "Sexy Love." Their other credits include Keith Urban and Pink's collaboration, "One Too Many."
  • Davidsen also played the guitar on the track, while Wallevik was responsible for the keyboards.
  • This is the opening track from Disco, which finds Minogue departing from the country-influenced sound on her previous album, Golden. Instead, it is one of several records released in 2020 influenced by 1970s and 1980s disco. Dua Lipa, Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus and BTS all kept the spirit of the dancefloor alive in 2020.
  • Sophie Muller filmed the video at Fabric, a nightclub in Farringdon, London. An homage to British club culture, the clip finds Minogue making moves accompanied by several dancers. Muller also directed the Australian singer's previous clips for "Dancing" and "Say Something."
