Songfacts®:

  • Labrinth's third single was originally performed live by the English electronic musician on the BBC Radio 1Xtra Live tour in 2011.The song received its UK radio premier on January 30, 2012 at 8:00am GMT and was made available for digital download on March 11, 2012.
  • Labrinth told MTV UK the song is his way of getting a few things off his chest. He explained: "I think it shows another side to what I'm about. I know a lot of people were expecting a more urban/dub-step kind of record but with this single, I've got a lot to get off my chest. It's got like disco-melodies and strings - which you don't really get in songs much. It's quite electronic, but when you really listen to the detail of the music, you can understand that it's really musical, and I think it shows another side." The Earthquake hitmaker added: "That's what Labrinth is about, it's what happens in a labyrinth - you never know what's gonna happen around the corner."
  • Speaking to Capital FM, Labrinth admitted that the song is influenced by his love for science fiction movies. "I love Sci-Fi," he said, "every time I look on a movie case it always says Sci-Fi. It's (the look of it) that attracts me."
  • Labrinth revealed to Capital FM that the song was inspired by French electro duo, Daft Punk. Comparing the track's sound to the French electro duo, he added that it also has elements of electronic pioneers, Kraftwerk, in the mix. "German band Kraftwerk were inspired by electronic music," said the singer/producer. "That's why I wanted to have my own perception of it."
