Songfacts®:

  • This guitar instrumental runs 9:20 and is the third track on Coryell's eponymous second album. "Albert" alludes to Coryell's bass player, Albert Stinson, who died from a drug overdose at age 24 in 1969, the same year the album was released. • This is a standout track on Coryell's second album. He was about 26 when it was released, but had already gained acclaim for his jazz-fusion sound, which bore a rock influence. Questioned about his style, Coryell would often explain that there were really two kinds of music: good and bad.
