Songfacts®:

  • This ode to being in a band is the closing track on New York dance punk act LCD Soundsystem's third studio album. The song continues the homecoming theme of LCD's first two album closers, "The Great Release" and "New York I Love You."
  • LCD Soundsystem leader James Murphy explained the song to The NME May 18, 2010: "I wanted to make something with a happy ending. I wanted it to be about being in a band and how much I like it. (Although) I don't like leaving my life. You leave your home, your friends, your dog. It was always supposed to be a non-professional experiment. I think it is still a non-professional experiment, but it's a non-professional experiment that takes up a much bigger part of my life than I expected."
