  • Le Sserafim is a South Korean girl group formed by Source Music, a sub-label of Hybe, the same powerhouse behind BTS. The lineup blends nationalities and musical backgrounds: Sakura and Kazuha hail from Japan, while Chaewon, Yunjin, and Eunchae are Korean.
  • The group originally comprised six members, but Kim Garam, who appeared on their debut 2022 EP Fearless, departed shortly afterward following controversy over alleged bullying and misconduct.
  • Kazuha's story is one of the most unexpected in K-pop. Before joining Le Sserafim, she trained as a professional ballet dancer at the Bolshoi Academy and the Royal Ballet School in Europe, bringing a classical elegance and global sensibility that's rare in the idol world.
  • Sakura, the eldest, is a seasoned idol veteran who began performing as a teenager in Japanese idol groups before crossing into K-pop. Both she and Chaewon had already made their names in IZ*ONE, the hit project group formed through the reality competition show Produce 48. That gave Le Sserafim a head start in fan recognition when they debuted.
  • Chaewon serves as the group's leader, describing her role as being "a rock" who "makes everything smooth" when tensions rise.
  • Yunjin grew up in New York and studied opera before swapping arias for choreography. Her powerful vocals and exuberant energy often make her the group's most animated member.
  • The youngest, Eunchae, trained for just 15 months before debuting in 2022. She earned the affectionate nickname "Manclove and deahae," a mix of her name and "maknae" (Korean for "youngest").
  • The group's name, "Le Sserafim," is an anagram of "I'm Fearless," referencing seraphim - celestial beings with six wings - and symbolizing the band's concept of confidence and strength. That theme runs through their debut EP, Fearless, and remains a cornerstone of their identity.
  • Their arrival was a major industry event. As Hybe's first girl group since GFriend's disbandment, all eyes were on how the label would shape its new female act. Le Sserafim debuted in May 2022 and quickly made history as the fastest K-pop girl group to enter the US Billboard 200 with their second EP, Antifragile, released just five months later.
  • Known for their fitness-focused choreography and mantra "We don't chase, we attract," the members project both physical and emotional resilience. Outside the studio, they've been tapped by brands like Louis Vuitton, Jim Beam, Sony, and Gelato Pique, merging pop star glamour with high-fashion credibility.
  • Each member has a fan nickname: Sakura fans are called Sakurinas, Chaewon's are Angels, Yunjin's are Flames, Kazuha's are Swans, and Eunchae's are Euncherries.
