Songfacts®:

  • This piano ballad finds Lea Michele singing about not being afraid of moving on but still finding it hard to say goodbye. It was penned by her Glee castmate Darren Criss especially for the show's final episode. "It was the most special day," she told Entertainment Weekly about the tune. "I got to say everything to everyone here and everyone who will watch it that I wanted to say, but you can't think of the words, and he wrote them."
  • Darren Criss previously penned the original song "Rise" for "The Rise and Fall of Sue Sylvester" episode of Glee. That tune was performed by the New Directions.
