  • In this retro-inspired number, Lenka feels like she's fading into a mere silhouette of her former self, but she filters her negative emotions through deceptively upbeat synthpop.

"This song is my delicious 1980s pop jam about being worn down by life to the point where you feel like you're disappearing and becoming numb. Almost a nihilistic feeling, but in a joyful way!" the Australian singer-songwriter explained in a press release. "It's fun to get creative with your more negative emotions and wear them like a costume, turn them into armor."
  • When Lenka is feeling down, she turns to songwriting to work out her emotions. "This is my therapy," she told Songfacts in a 2023 interview. "I start writing a song with some sort of negative emotion pushing the lyrics, but as an eternal optimist and a person who doesn't want to wallow for too long, I tend to lift myself out of the negativity by the second chorus and find some solution or silver lining to the problem at hand."
  • The nostalgic music video that finds Lenka decked out in colorful '80s-style fashions was directed by Adam Jordan, who was inspired by the decade's pop queens like Whitney Houston and Kylie Minogue.

"This was such a fun video to shoot. The goal was to evoke the feel of '80s glamor, the nostalgia, but without the cheese," Jordan explained. "Lenka absolutely smashed it with the clothing options, my favorite shots became the black sparkly top with the backlight, the perfect mix of the glamor and nostalgia vibe we were going for."

Jordan has also helmed clips for other Aussie acts like Topnovil ("Nobody's Fool") and Adam's Parade ("Dead Water").
  • Lenka took a break from the recording studio after issuing her 2020 album Discover. She returned in 2022 with the Covid-inspired single "Winter Sun," followed by "One Moment" and "Silhouette" in 2023.
