Songfacts®:

  • "Found/Tonight" is a mash-up of two songs from Broadway musicals: Hamilton's "The Story of Tonight" and Dear Evan Hansen's "You Will Be Found." Hamilton composer and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda sings "Tonight", while "Found" is crooned by Ben Platt who starred in the Benj Pasek and Justin Paul penned Dear Evan Hansen.
  • The song was released as a March for Our Lives charity single to coincide with a student-led demonstration in support of tighter gun control that took place on March 24, 2018. It was Miranda's second charity single to reach the top 50 of the Hot 100, following "Almost Like Praying," featuring Artists for Puerto Rico, which was released in response to Hurricane Maria.
