Songfacts®:

  • Thanks to her roles in The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday, Lindsay Lohan was a really popular actress when she released her debut album, Speak, in 2004. The third single was "First," a song where she lets her guy know that she wants top billing over any other girls in his mind. The song was written and produced by Kara DioGuardi and John Shanks, who worked with her on much of the album.
  • "First" plays in the end credits of Lohan's 2005 movie Herbie: Fully Loaded, and appears on the soundtrack. The music video incorporates scenes from the film.
