Songfacts®:

  • This song celebrates those friendships where you can go years without seeing each other but slip naturally into relaxed conversation when you do meet up. It starts with a phone call.

I got a call out of the blue
From an old buddy I knew in school

As soon as the two friends start chatting, memories of those good times they once shared with each other come flooding back. LoCash tell their pal they are just 50 miles away and suggest a reunion.

I got some 12-ounce, small town memories
    Man, it's been too long
    We got some years
We got some beers to catch up on
  • LoCash had the Rhett Akins, Jeremy Stover, Paul DiGiovanni penned tune filed away for a long while before they recorded it. "We kept putting it on hold and renewing the hold on it - and reassuring the songwriters that we were gonna cut that song," LoCash's Preston Brust told The Boot. "'Cause it always meant a lot to us, once we heard it."
  • Once LoCash recorded the song it set the stage for the bromance theme that runs through Brothers. According to the press release, the album reflects the LoCash duo's bond with each other throughout their careers.
