Songfacts®:

  • Mutt Lange was so prolific in the '80s that even acts he wasn't producing were delivering hits with his name on them. Lange wrote "Lovin' Every Minute of It," which became the title track to the band's fourth album.

Like his work with Def Leppard, the song has a huge group chorus, layered keyboards, sound effects and vaguely sexual references like "shoot me like a rocket into space." It's hit material, and Loverboy delivered. The song was their biggest chart hit in America.
  • The video was shot at the Holiday Inn in Hollywood. In the clip, we see a lounge act performing a really lame version of "Working For The Weekend" before cutting to Loverboy throwing a huge party on the second floor. Jerry Kramer and Rick Rosenthal were the directors.
  • The waitress in the video who gets a bill stuffed down her shirt by Mike Reno is Jenilee Harrison, who was on the shows Three's Company and Dallas.
  • In 2016, this song featured in a commercial for National Car Rental featuring Patrick Warburton of Seinfeld fame. "As the boys from Loverboy so eloquently noted," he says upon entering a vehicle occupied by the band as this song blares, "I'm lovin' every minute of it."
