Songfacts®:

  • This Hillary Lindsey, Tom Douglas and James Slater redemptive ballad displays Hale's vulnerable side. We hear her sing:.

I'm that girl you think that's got it figured out.
But I walk around, with a head full of doubt.
The cruelest words about me, come from my own mouth.

"It's such an important message," Hale told Radio.com. "It's stuff that we all forget — at the end of the day everyone's going through something. And we should all try and be there for each other and keep in mind that, no matter what you do, where you're from, what you look like or how much money you make, we all feel the same emotions. We all go through similar things even though we're living out different lives."
  • Hale told Billboard magazine that though she's a bubbly and happy person in general, she does have a darker side to her, that can surprise other people.

She added: "There's a song called 'Nervous Girls" on the record - that's a perfect example of saying 'it's okay to not be okay.' I grew up in L.A. as an actress and you're supposed to have it all together and you're not allowed to have a bad day, but I think with the songwriting process, it was cool to delve into those places I wasn't used to going. The darker, more dramatic side of me."
