  • Lydia's Castle is a Nashville rock group formed by the married couple Cody Denton and Tonya LeeAnne in 2020 during the pandemic. They were joined by drummer Jon Wysocki the following year. This song was their third single. Denton told the story to Songfacts:

"'Search For You' is a song about longing to see loved ones who are no longer with us. The lyrics were penned by Tonya as a form of therapy to overcome the loss of our daughter, Lydia. When we were writing the song together, the idea was to have a larger-than-life sound to accentuate the emotion of what was being said. There are moments in music where it's important to make sure that the music matches the intensity and intent of the lyrics. This was a song that we wanted to make sure we got right the first time."

"Overall, the message is love," he added. "An undying love that fills your heart up with joy and rips it out of you at the same time. We hope that 'Search For You' speaks to our listeners in a way that comforts them knowing they are not alone in their feelings or fear. We are all human and we all need to be there for each other, whether in person or in spirit."
  • The video was directed by Austin Dellamano and stars Rich Kriete and Tara Oster as a couple who meet, get married, then experience tragedy, with the woman suffering a miscarriage and then dying of cancer. It ends with a Sliding Doors scenario, rewinding to a world where they never get together.

"The music video for 'Search For You' is a reflection of a life between two people and the love they share and the trials and tribulations life can bring," Denton explained. "It's meant to be relatable to people who may have gone through situations that the average person does not. Whether it's loss of a pregnancy or terminal illness, we wanted to reach out to people who feel left in the shadows and let them know that we see them, and their experiences in life matter to others. Austin Dellamano pulled the storyline and our vision together and helped display our vision better than we could have imagined."
