• MGK and Halsey have been friends for a long time, so it's surprising this is their first collaboration together. Halsey tweeted when the rapper-turned-rocker dropped Tickets to My Downfall, "Can't believe it took 7 years for us to do it."
• MGK and Halsey co-wrote the song with Nick Long, who is a member of the band Dark Waves. Long contributed towards the writing of every track on Tickets to My Downfall apart from the two interludes.
• Travis Barker produced the song, with the help of Los Angeles producer Omer Fedi. Barker collaborated with MGK on the entire Tickets to My Downfall album with the blink-182 stickman helming the record and playing drums. Barker previously worked with Halsey on her 2019 Yungblud collaboration "11 Minutes."
• Speaking in an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, MGK and Barker recalled that after working on "Forget Me Too" for a while they realized they should make it a duet with Halsey. MGK sent the demo to her that night, and she came into the studio to lay down her vocals the very next day.
• MGK gushed about how easy it was to work with his friend, saying it took her five minutes to write her verse. Barker added that it didn't take long for Halsey to record her part either, recalling she "was in the booth 10, 15 minutes tops and the song was finished."
• The Philip Andelman-directed video finds MGK and Halsey battling each other after a devastating breakup. Travis Barker makes a cameo at the end of the clip when he contributes a hectic drum solo.
  
  Andelman has also filmed visuals for Taylor Swift ("Safe and Sound," "Begin Again" "Everything Has Changed") and Beyoncé ("Halo").
