Songfacts®:

  • This features rapper T-Pain in a guest slot. It was the first time that T-Pain had worked with a female singer.
  • Carey told MTV Base: "Basically, that song is about migrating from one place to another, whether it's from the bar to the club, from the club to the apartment, to wherever, whatever, city to the beach, beach to who knows where."
  • The song's producer Nate "Danja" Hills told Rolling Stone magazine that on this song Carey "definitely opens up towards the end of the song and shows what Mariah does. It's a different array of her vocal range on this record, but she keeps it pretty mid-range and then toward the end she lets loose. She was singing in the room, and I was just blown away by how good it sounded without her even trying. It's incredible, I see why she is who she is."
  • Carey first introduced this track at a New Years Eve party at club TAO in Las Vegas.
  • Carey and T-Pain performed this on Saturday Night Live on March 15, 2008.
  • This used Auto-Tune to manipulate the artists' vocals. Mariah also employed the device on her 2009 single "Obsessed."
  • This opens Carey's 11th studio album, E=MC2. She told Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen that the tune should have been a single.
  • The album debuted at #1 in the US. Upon its 12th anniversary in April 2020, E=MC2 also topped the iTunes chart in several countries, including the US.
