Songfacts®:

  • Mary J. Blige spent a month in England's capital city recording her The London Sessions album with a host of young British acts. She laid down this song with London-based producers Jimmy Napes and Steve Fitzmaurice, whose other work includes co-producing Sam Smith's debut album In the Lonely Hour. "It's all about the London Music scene and I'm so excited to have been part of it, to record my album," Blige said about the record. "The songs are fun, therapeutic and soulful. This is a beautiful change for me and I'm proud of what we have done here."
  • Blige sung to an entire orchestra on this song. "I just broke out of my shell and went all the way," she told Billboard magazine. "Went all Tina Turner, 'River Deep' on them."
