Lucky Man

Album: Mine (2008)

Songfacts®:

  • York, who is a singer-songwriter from Canada, singles this out as a song that has special meaning to him. He told Songfacts: "'Lucky Man' was written for my fiancee over the course of some extensive touring. I had the riff forever but I couldn't quite come up with lyrics that were simple enough to communicate what I wanted to say without being super cheesy. Less is more, ya know?

I was in the back of the tour van on the bed that we'd built and the first line hit me and then BAM, it was like a flood of lyrics that all came pouring out in an hour. I played it for the first time that night in BC - It's still one of my favourite ones to play ;-)"
