  • Megan Thee Stallion has been calling herself a "Hot Girl" ever since her 2018 song of the same name. Here, she flexes her sex appeal, saying the pictures of her curves and "lil waist" have been getting men through the COVID-19 quarantine. "If I were me and I would have seen myself, I would have bought me a drink," the self-professed rap queen quips.
  • Megan revealed in a YouTube Released video that she was inspired to write the twerk-worthy bop while she was appreciating her body during the COVID-19 lockdown, stating, "I'm like walking around the living room, freestyling, and appreciating my quarantine body 'cause I feel like I got a little fluffy and thick, and I was like, 'Baby I still look good.'"

As Meghan rapped and twerked, she looked at herself in the mirror and asked herself, "What does this beat make me want to do?" The answer was, "Body. Look at this body."
  • One of Megan's regular collaborators, LilJuMadeDaBeat, came up with the fast-paced instrumentation. His other productions for the Texan include her breakthrough single "Big Ole Freak" and "Cash S---."
  • Megan Thee Stallion debuted the song live at the American Music Awards on November 22, 2020. Taking to the stage at LA's Microsoft Theater with her crew of backup dancers by her side, Megan gave a lively performance of the track.

Prior to the performance, the rapper shared her empowering viewpoint about body image: "You may not think my body is perfect and it probably never will be but when I look in the mirror, I love what I see."
  • The Colin Tilley-directed video features Megan rapping alongside a group of backing dancers. The clip also features guest appearances from the likes of former reality TV star Jordyn Woods, Empire and Hidden Figures actress Taraji P. Henson, models Blac Chyna and Tabria Majors, and Megan's close friend Maliibu Miitch.

Megan discussed the body-positive focus of the visual. "You're going to see all body shapes, a lot of strong women doing the damn thing," she said. "Just being confident and owning their bodies and their sexuality."
  • Megan's creative director, Jaquel Knight, choreographed the dance that she does in the music video. Her moves inspired a dance challenge using the #BodyOdyChallenge hashtag.
  • The London-based DJ and producer DJ Corry remixed the track. His dance reworking adds a pulsing four-to-the-floor beat, emphasizing Megan's hook with reverb and piano house chords.
  • The song featured in the third episode of the Disney+ series She Hulk: Attorney at Law, which premiered on September 1, 2022.
