Songfacts®:

  • "Her" is a braggadocios track where Megan Thee Stallion celebrates her strong, independent womanhood. Never short of confidence, the Houston-bred rapper boasts her wealth, attractive body and sexual prowess make her the complete package.
  • Because Megan knows she's hot, none of her haters intimidate her. In the third verse she invites negative talk because any conversation that revolves around her gets publicity. And any publicity adds racks to her bank balance.
  • CashMoneyAP, YoungKio, Malibu Babie, and Vaughn Oliver created the house-music-based instrumentation. French producer CashMoneyAP has also produced beats for the likes Pop Smoke ("For The Night") and Nle Choppa ("Walk Em Down"). Dutch producer YoungKio is best known for creating the beat for Lil Nas X' smash hit "Old Town Road" when he was a teenager. Malibu Babie and Vaughn Oliver also co-produced Nicki Minaj's "Super Freaky Girl."
  • Megan released "Her" as the fourth single from Traumazine on August 12, 2022. The album title is a word she invented, which she defined in an Instagram post as: "a chemical released in the brain when it is forced to deal with painful emotions caused by traumatic events and experiences."
  • The video shows Megan Thee Stallion delivering poses and choreography against a stark black-and-white setting. There are multiple Megan clones and a troupe of Sia-wigged backup dancers, but we really only focus on one thing: her.
  • Colin Tilley directed the video. A serial Megan visual collaborator, Tilley also worked with the "Hot Girl Summer" rapper on "Don't Stop," "Body" and "Cry Baby" plus her Cardi B collaboration "WAP."
