Songfacts®:

  • This upbeat love song was recorded by Meghan Trainor for The Love Train, an EP inspired by the singer's experiences when dating her now-husband, Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara.
  • Trainor told Billboard that "All the Ways" came from when she was sitting on the couch with Daryl Sabara one night and she asked him if he loved her. When Daryl replied yes, she responded, "Tell me all the ways," and he said, "All the ways." Trainor burst out laughing, thinking it was the funniest thing.

Trainor decided the next day to write a song based around Daryl's "cute line." The "All About That Bass" hitmaker came up with a melody and told her producers Andrew Wells and Jacob Kasher, "I want it to be iconic, and I want people to play this in 30 years and be like, 'You know what, that's still a jam." They created an ABBA-like instrumentation with big-choruses as the soundscape for Trainor's lyrics.
  • The song's music video stars actress Bailee Madison (Trophy Wife, The Fosters) as a young woman who has a whirlwind romance with a giant teddy bear.
