  • The term "boy racer" was originally a nickname given to the AJS Model 7R racing motorcycle, which was manufactured for the mass market in the late 1940s. Then in the 1990s it began to be used as a dismissive term for flash young men who drive fast and aggressively speeding away from traffic lights, playing loud music, and revving their engines.
