Songfacts®:

  • This drum-and-bass breakup anthem finds M.I.A. addressing an ex by sending him a song chock full of references to other ditties. She croons:

    "Here's a mixtape that I made, let's take a break
Don't wanna fuss away, baby if it's too late
While I get my life so it is a mixtape."
  • The song title is a reference to Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart," whilst tunes sampled include Carly Simon's "Why," Fresh 4's cover of Rose Royce's "Wishing On A Star" and the acoustic guitar and vocal from Blur's "Tender." There is an extended snippet of Karen Dalton's "I Love You More Than Words Can Say" at the end.
