  • Migos is very much a family affair. Offset and Quavo are cousins and Quavo is also Takeoff's uncle. (Quavo's sister is Takeoff's mother). None of the three had any father figures when they grew up - Quavo's mom would often look after all three boys, supporting them with her work as a hairstylist.
  • Quavo recalled to XXL magazine recording under the sobriquet Crunk Boy in the 8th grade, handing out to CDs of his music to classmates. "Everybody laughed at me," he said. "They were saying the words and kind of laughing and joking about it. My boy Offset had to freeze them and say, 'This s--t hard.'"
  • They formed Migos in 2009 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The trio began frequenting Atlanta clubs like Mansion Elan and Obsessions every weekend and are now known for representing the trap sound of the state capital.
  • Migos released the mixtapes Juug Season and No Label, but didn't really break through to a widespread audience until Drake produced a remix of their 2013 single "Versace." The new version became their first Hot 100 hit.
  • Their success is such that Complex named Quavo the "Most Influential Rapper of 2014," writing: "No rapper in the current moment has a more emulated flow."

The magazine added: "That distinctive triplet pattern, first popularized on their smash hit 'Versace,' is the sound of 2014."
  • Migos briefly had to operate as a duo in 2015 when Offset was sent to jail following a police raid on the group's tour bus after a show at Georgia State University. While Quavo and Takeoff were released on bond, Offset was remanded in custody. The following month Offset run up additional charges of battery and inciting a riot within a penal facility after attacking another inmate, causing severe injury. The rapper was finally released in December 2015 after eight months in custody.
  • Migos landed 14 songs on the Hot 100 in the week following the release of their 2018 Culture II album. In doing so the trio tied The Beatles' record for the most simultaneous entries on the chart among groups.
  • Migos named themselves after a slang word for a house where drugs are made and sold.
  • Takeoff got his nickname because of his style - he's very quiet most of the time, but bursts with energy (takes off) when it's time to put down his tracks.
  • Quavo was a football star in high school, setting the county record at quarterback for most completions in a game for Berkmar High School.
  • Offset was a child actor, during which he danced in TLC and Whitney Houston music videos. Here's a behind-the-scenes photo of the 10-year-old Kiari Cephus on the set of Whitney's 2002 "Whatchulookinat" visual.
  • When Offset started going out with fellow rapper Cardi B, he knew he had to go big for their first public date, so he took her to the Super Bowl. His efforts must have won Cardi's heart as they married on September 20, 2017.

Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset on August 1, 2024, while simultaneously announcing her pregnancy with their third child.
  • On November 1, 2022, Takeoff was killed by stray bullets outside 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston. According to the coroner's office, he died of "penetrating gunshot wounds of head and torso into arm."

Quavo was present at the time but avoided injury, although he reportedly fainted following the incident.
  • Quavo played quarterback on his high school football team, while Offset was a wide receiver.
