• Following the chart-topping success of Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow," rumormongers attempted to create some nonexistent beef between her and Nicki.

  Cardi squashes during her verse the speculation regarding rumored tensions between the two New York MCs.
• Nicki Minaj had no idea Cardi B would also be featured on the record when she recorded her verse. The rapper explained she originally dropped her rhymes under the assumption it would be just her and Quavo; however, she said the Migos member later contacted her about Cardi's potential verse. Minaj tweeted:
  
  "No one else was on it. He called & asked if I think we should put Bardi on it, I said "ok let's do it". The end. Migos weren't even on it yet. Just Quavo. The conspiracy theories r just so tired. Relax. Breathe. Imagine me not knowing who on a song w/me. Anything w/my name on it gets approved by me. It can't even go on a streaming service w/o me hearing it & giving written approval."
• Though Cardi B had connections with Migos and Nicki Minaj from back in her days as an exotic dancer, she wasn't secure enough to ask those two artists to collaborate with her.
  
  "It means a lot. It means a lot to me," she told Complex News. "You know, I made a lot of money dancing to their music while I was a dancer."
  
  "I used to be around them, like, 'Oh, would you guys do a collab with me?' because I didn't even have the audacity for me to even ask them," Cardi added. "For them to ask me to be on this record, it just made me feel like, 'You know what? I proved myself.'"

  Minaj confessed she initially didn't pay close enough attention to Takeoff's flirty verse. She took to Twitter in late November 2017 to admit to the initial oversight, much to her fans' amusement.
  
  "Take Off (sic) verse on Motorsport," she began. "it's my s--t tho but ummm I feel like I didn't peep them lines until the song came out (sic). I was like (shocked face emoji)."
  
  After a fan tweeted saying "glad [Nicki] didn't stop Take Offs bag", Nicki replied with this tweet:
  
  "I would've if I had realized he was talking about me in that part. I didn't peep that lil 5 letter word 'Nicki (sic).'"
• When this jumped to #6 on the Hot 100, Cardi B became the first female rapper to ever place in the top 10 with her first three singles. Both her solo cut "Bodak Yellow," and the Bronx MC's collab with G-Eazy and A$AP Rocky, "No Limit," landed in the top tier as well.
